For Hikers

The Diamond in the Rough Hike-A-Thon will provide an opportunity to enjoy the Black Diamond Trail, one of our community’s special resources for outdoor recreation. Participants will have the option of starting at Alan Treman Marine Park or at a mid-way point along the trail, ending at the Cayuga Nature Center. A celebration at the Nature Center after the hike will include refreshments and educational programming.


  • Top sponsorship total: $100 gift certificate
  • 2nd Place:,$75 gift certificate
  • 3rd place:$50 gift certificate
  • Anyone bringing in at least $300 in sponsorships: a $40 gift certificate

All Hikers will need:

  • Appropriate clothing for the conditions
  • To Sign in at the Registration Desk and Sign out at the end of the trail.
  • Carry a cell phone (or hike with a group that has one). In  case of an emergency call 911, if you need to contact Hike officials call 607-273-6260
  • Carry adequate water and food  (water will be available at Glenwood Heights Road Aid Station)


Registration will include the hike, and admission with all activities at the Cayuga Nature Center at the conclusion of the hike. Registering provides the opportunity to become a volunteer fundraiser for the event through individual sponsorships.
