Our annual family-centered Fossil Mania event will celebrate our local Devonian and Ice Age fossils found in Central New York. National Fossil Day is an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations.

The Museum of the Earth's Fossil Mania! is held at the same time in the year as the National Park Service’s National Fossil Day. This year, the National Park Service is celebrating the Grand Canyon, which has fossils from almost every age on Earth contained in its exposed rock. We are celebrating the rich fossil diversity of New York State with our own poster design challenge. You can download a template and instructions for your own design here!
