Cayuga Nature Center offers post-show program with Hangar Theatre this summer

(ITHACA, NY - July 18, 2022) The Paleontological Research Institution’s (PRI) venues, Museum of the Earth and Cayuga Nature Center, are collaborating with the Hangar Theatre Company this summer for the Theatre’s KIDDSTUFF show, Dragons Love Tacos, to offer a special post-show program with live animals from the Cayuga Nature Center. Dragons Love Tacos will be performed at the Hangar Theatre’s outdoor stage on Friday, July 29th and Saturday, July 30th, with performances at 10am and 12pm both days.

Directly after the Dragons Love Tacos performances, the audience can stay to learn about Cayuga Nature Center’s animal ambassadors, and meet a few live animals to discuss their adaptations and personalities with a Cayuga Nature Center Educator.

Tickets for the show may be purchased online on the Hangar Theatre website: https://hangartheatre.org/event/dragons-love-tacos/. PRI members receive a discount on all MainStage performances at the Hangar Theatre this year. Learn more about membership at PRI.

Written by Adam Rubin and adapted for the Stage by Ernie Nolan, Dragons Love Tacos tells the story of a kid and their dog who find themselves sucked into a TV documentary about dragons where they learn about the many varieties of dragons, and the one thing they all have in common: a love for tacos. But as much as they love topping them with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream, keep the spicy salsa far, far away, or else...beware!

The Hangar Theatre is located two miles north of downtown Ithaca on Route 89 at the Treman Marina entrance to Cass Park, and 5 miles south of Cayuga Nature Center on Route 89.

About Cayuga Nature Center

The Cayuga Nature Center provides programs and exhibits that encourage visitors to explore the natural history of the Cayuga Lake Basin as part of the regional and global ecosystems. The Nature Center’s 100 acres of woodland and old field overlooking Cayuga Lake are home to a six-story treehouse, live native animals, a gorge and waterfall, and more than 5 miles of walking trails. The historic main lodge, built by the WPA in 1939, houses the largest public aquarium in the Finger Lakes, as well as exhibits on local forest ecology, wildlife, and climate. The Nature Center was founded in 1981 to provide nature education opportunities to area youth, principally through summer camps. In 2013 it merged with the Paleontological Research Institution and expanded its onsite exhibits and programs. Follow on social media for more information: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
